Description:
The construction project I/11 Čadca - Bridge 208 involved the demolition and construction of a new bridge structure on the road I/11 in the urban area of the town of Čadca. The structure is located in the Žilina Region at Km 414.580 400 – Km 415.059 960. The bridge carries the road I/11 over the railway line, the WWTP complex and the river Kysuca. As part of the construction, a completely new bridge structure was built, including the foundation for the substructure.
The total length of the road section is 479.56 m, the width is 15.15 m. Of this, the length of the bridge is 306.59 m and the width of the paved part of the road is 11.5 m. Public lighting was built along the entire road on the right-hand side, including a total of 15 lamps.
The new bridge structure is currently a 7-span single-storey bridge, built on 63 piles, 6 pillars and 2 bridge supports. Pillar No. 2 is located in the river Kysuca and due to the height of 100-year-flooding, its shape is modified. The individual columns are connected by a concrete block, which is terminated in the direction of water flow by a surface lined with stone. The foundation of the bridge support No. 1 and the retaining walls behind 1st support are made of KB blocks. The load-bearing structure consists of a continuous steel beam with a coupled steel slab.
Along the road in the direction of the station, a steel railing was installed. A handrail is anchored on the left ledge. Due to the traction line of the Railways of the Slovak Republic, which runs under the bridge, anti-contact obstacles are connected to the railing and the railing barrier by non-conductive connections.
As part of the construction, the ledge on the retaining wall in front of the bridge was also reconstructed. The reconstruction consisted of reprofiling the necessary parts of the main load-bearing structure, replacement of the ledge, implementation of insulation and new safety equipment.
Part of the project was the construction of a ramp to the Kysuca riverbed. As part of the works, the embankment wall was demolished and rebuilt after the works in the riverbed were completed.
In addition, the traction line cables in front of and behind the bridge were relocated, since they collided with the construction of the bridge.
To ensure safety, it was necessary to create a voltage-free field above track No. 1 and track No. 2. After the construction of the new bridge, the voltage-free field was
dismantled, and, at the same time, the contact wire and the supporting cable were replaced with new ones in the entire anchor section.
