Project description:
The bridge has one track and four spans and brings the railway line from Šatov to Znojmo over the valley of the river Dyje.
Prior to the start of the construction of the new viaduct, the existing ŽM16-type structure was dismantled. The lower structure of the new bridge consists of reinforced-concrete bearing blocks with parallel abutments and three intermediate pillars in the floodplain installed on pre-existing stone support shafts. The support shafts were rehabilitated and reinforced with a micropile system. The load-bearing structure consists of truss-type beams with an upper orthotropic steel deck with a gutter for the rail bed. An inspection footbridge with industrial grating has been built in the bottom part. The production of the structure, including the anti-corrosion protection, took place in stages in the contractor’s bridgeworks. The structure was assembled on the Znojmo clearway and gradually pushed on sliding supports using hydraulic presses. Subsequently, it was lowered by the ENERPAC synchronized lifting system onto the pot bearings. Sprayed seamless insulation was applied in the gutter of the rail bed on the back parts of the of the supports. On the face of the new bearing blocks, the slope abutment of the Znojmo support and the heads of the pillars, a suspended ventilated cladding of granite slabs was installed.
