Project description:

The SO 201 bridge is part of the “I/42 Road Brno, Dobrovského B Expressway” structure. The bridge is designed as a T-shaped intersection. The length of the main structure is 62.27 m, the length of the ramp being 47.30 m. The width of the main bridge is 16.00 – 17.00 m, and the width of the ramp is 10.40 m. The bridge is founded on large-diameter piles with a diameter of 1200 mm. The supports are massive and made of reinforced concrete, the inner supports are reinforced concrete struts. In the main direction, the load-bearing structure is designed as a four-section slab into which an inclined three-section slab of the ramp is embedded. The entire structure is made of prestressed concrete and was concreted in one take. The concrete volume of the bridge deck was 1 170 m3. The supporting structure is prestressed by a BBV prestressing system and is mounted on pot bearings and Freyssinet hinges. The bridge is dilated on each abutment with a surface expansion joint. The waterproofing is made on the entire area from asphalt sheets on a sealing layer with an area of 1 460 m2. The ledges on the bridge are monolithic reinforced-concrete. The asphalt on the bridge serves as insulation, and the asphalt road made of ABH and AKMS has an area of 1 105 m2.

The construction of the “Královo pole tunnels” - I/42 Dobrovského B Expressway constitutes a very significant improvement to the infrastructure of Brno. Of the total volume of approximately CZK 6.9 billion, FIRESTA carried out work in the total volume of CZK 455,438,422 excluding VAT.
 

The company worked on road structures and sidewalks, two reinforced-concrete prestressed bridges, one 93 m long temporary bridge for public transport over a four-lane road, retaining walls, drainage and sewerage, relocation of cables and of gas and hot water pipelines.
 

A significant part of the contract involved the construction of a technology centre, which is located approximately in the middle of the tunnels.
 

The whole construction took place in a densely built-up area, including work with in a monument reservation area.
 

This structures is one of the most important transport structures in Brno.
