Project description:
Railway line No. 274 forms an important connection between Poland and Germany. The two-track border railway bridge on the river Nysa was built in the 1950s, it is a stone viaduct of the Roman type - a 30-span stone structure with a length of 472.90 m (length of spans 11.50 m - 28.21 m), 27.80 m high and 9.95 m wide. The three highest spans were destroyed at the end of World War II, and in 1952 the stone and concrete arches were restored.
The work was carried out in two stages, one for each of the two tracks, and consisted of: demolition of the stone railing, ledges and original tracks, as well as implementation of a new reinforced-concrete slab for the new ballast riverbed, epoxy polyurethane insulation in the amount of 5 656 m2, installation of a prefabricated decorative ledge and prefabricated reinforced-concrete railings, installation of HDPE drainage in the length of 475.50 m, cleaning and local repairs of concrete and stone parts, hydrophobization and anti-graffiti coating of the load-bearing structure on a total area of 21 578.00 m2. In addition, specialized stonework was carried out on decorative stone elements worth PLN 975 350 incl. VAT, strengthening of the slope cone at the support with stone paving on an area of 540.00 m2 and strengthening with heavy stone of the banks of the river Nysa Łużycka in the volume of 650 m3
